One of my goals is to try out many types of sealants and topcoats for paper quilled jewelry and share how each one works. I have used several types extensively, but there are so many new ones out there to try! I’ve started on my journey by ordering two new ones today. I’m going to test them out for the next month or two and then report back on how they work!
First up, I ordered Nunn Design Sealant. Apparently it dries in only 20 minutes! How great is that? Apply your base sealant and 20 minutes later apply a topcoat! I am wondering whether it soaks into the paper and stiffens it or not. I’ll report back with my findings!
The second one I am trying out is Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. It will be interesting to see how it works with inset pendants and with other solid designs that can use a lovely shiny finish.
Have you ever used either of these two sealants/topcoats? With which crafts? Any tips I should know about before I start? I look forward to sharing my results!

I have used both of these sealant. Thr nunn design is quite good. Shining and smooth. I like it too. But if you coat it on non acid free paper in a few weeks it will yellowish. But if u coat it on acid paper it still look stunning. The second one i have used it to glue glass it works well. But not sure if it will yellowish. So far neva hrard my customer complaint about it.
Thanks for your feedback! I received mine in the mail a couple days ago, looking forward to getting started trying them!
