When I first started paper quilling I learned about it from a library book. Later my parents bought me my own quilling book (which I still have and refer to now and then!). Those were the days before the world wide web and instant access to anything you want to know! Now you can just do a quick google search and find out pretty much anything about paper quilling. However, sometimes it’s just really really nice to have that book in front of you, you know? Here are some great quilling books. Click on the photos to see the listings on Amazon, where you can always get a great deal on books. Or look in your local bookstores to see their selection!

I think I got lucky that my parents picked out a quality quilling book for me to start with! Funny, though, I’ve never actually made one of the patterns from the book exactly as is. I used it for the information on how to create designs, and I used the designs as inspirations for starting my own designs. I guess I just like coming up with my own patterns and designs! I still love the book, though! My favorite page in the book is the one that simply shows a variety of simple flower designs.
